A traditional French dish, this is essentially a chicken stew with a creamy white mushroom sauce.
Clean chicken and cook until brown with butter add salt and pepper to taste as you brown it.
Remove chicken and cook mushrooms for 2-3 minutes before adding all ingredients except chicken to make the creamy sauce. In this step close the lid with 4 coals on top for 10-15 minutes. Stir. When cooking with butter and milk (cream) do not overheat the dutchoven it will lose it's creamy texture and become a bit clumpy.
Add chicken and close the lid for 45 additional minutes keep a moderature amount of coals 16 below and 10 above. Replenish coals as needed they shrink but don't over do it.
Serve with rice. Also goes well with a side of green peas. Enjoy!
